Penn Summer Prep Program

The Penn Summer Prep Program allows ambitious students to enroll in two undergraduate-level modules from across disciplines while benefiting from the rich educational resources of the University. Students can also experience college life on Penn’s historic campus and explore the vibrant city of Philadelphia. Penn Summer Prep instructors are a combination of University of Pennsylvania graduate students, faculty, and staff.

Modules are designed to engage students as critical thinkers and global citizens and to hone the analytical skills necessary for sustained academic growth.

For Summer 2024, students could choose from the following modules:

Morning

  • Digital Media, Inequality, and Cyber-Civil Rights

  • Fantastic Politics: Modern Political Issues Illustrated Through Fantasy Worlds

  • Fine Art Photography

  • Pathogens, Pathology, and the Next Pandemic

  • The Writer's Launchpad

  • Thinking Like an Anthropologist

Afternoon

  • Ancient Plagues

  • Fantastic Politics: Modern Political Issues Illustrated Through Fantasy Worlds

  • Literature and Documentary Film in the Century of Climate Politics

  • Pathogens, Pathology, and the Next Pandemic

  • The Writer's Launchpad

  • US Census, Data, and Democracy: Understanding Numbers with Social Sciences
